Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana (OPC) pursues its commitment to education and community development with the recent donations of learning materials to Miguel Ángel Banegas School and Hogar Niños San Ramón in Puerto Cortés.

OPC handed over seven computer sets for the Miguel Ángel Banegas School’s computer lab, which previously lacked equipment for its more than 300 students. A projector was also given to enhance classroom learning. The donations will improve the learning experience with the help of technology.

The handover ceremony was attended by OPC representatives, teachers, and students, who expressed their gratitude for the support.

OPC also extended assistance to Hogar de Niños San Ramon by donating school supplies, ensuring that the 20 children under the home’s care have the necessary learning materials for the entire school year. As part of the Manitos a la Obra (Hands on Work) program, OPC employee sponsors gave each child a personalized water bottle to further strengthen their bonds. Established in 1998 to support street children, the home provides a safe and nurturing environment for abandoned and at-risk youth.

Supporting education and fostering a lasting, positive impact on the community remain a core social responsibility goal for OPC. Through initiatives like these, the Company makes a meaningful difference for the local youth.
