MICT distributes Go Kits

Manila International Container Terminal distributed Go Kits to employees from November to December as part of a safety campaign focused on disaster preparedness.

Go Kits contain supplies that could help employees survive an emergency or disaster. These include gloves, KN95 mask, transistor radio, water bottle, paracord, pocketknife, whistle and a first aid kit. The Go Kits are easy to carry and should be stored in accessible areas in case there is a need for evacuation.

“Safety is always a top priority across the ICTSI Group. We can avoid injuries and even loss of lives during emergencies by regularly promoting awareness among our employees on the proper emergency procedures. We all need to be in the same page when it comes to keeping everybody safe inside the terminal,” said Edmund Trazo, ICTSI Global HSSE director.

Aside from the distribution of Go Kits, an information drive was also launched to increase awareness on disaster preparedness. The information drive featured a series of videos explaining the different procedures during a fire or earthquake, the HSE newsletter and finally an emergency drill to cap off the safety campaign for 2021.
