TecPlata, ONE, Newsan inaugurate River Plate Express service
TecPlata, ONE and consumer electronics and food product manufacturer Newsan welcome the arrival of the SX2 River Plate Express in the Port of La Plata.
TecPlata, International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) Buenos Aires terminal, recently welcomed the inaugural call of the SX2 River Plate Express service of Ocean Network Express (ONE).
The service presents a valuable addition to Argentina’s national logistics ecosystem, strengthening maritime connectivity between Argentina and Asia. It officially launched in TecPlata in May with the arrival of the vessel Spirit of Dubai, establishing a link with ports in Pusan, southern China, Rio Grande and Montevideo. The launch represents an agile and reliable logistics solution that boosts international trade in the region by improving transit times and enhancing operational efficiency.
“This new service symbolizes the result of joint work and mutual trust. We are honored that leading companies like ONE and Newsan have chosen TecPlata as part of their logistics chain. Our terminal is designed to be an extension of our clients, a partner that supports their operations with efficiency, sustainability and commitment,” explained TecPlata Chief Executive Officer Juan Pablo Trujillo, who witnessed the arrival of the service together with Fernando Maggi, ONE Argentina president; and Luis Galli, Newsan chief executive officer and president.
Reflecting on the strategic importance of the collaboration, Galli said: “It is greatly satisfying to return to TecPlata in the context of an operation driven by the conviction and effort of teams that have proven themselves in meeting the highest standards. The efficiency indicators are exceeding our expectations. We decided to take on the challenge because we believe that each of our areas must build competitive advantages – and in that sense, TecPlata is a strategic partner with a forward-looking vision.”
For his part, Maggi explained: “This service, which started as a brainstorming idea, has become a strategic reality. In such a commoditized industry, the difference lies in innovation and customer service. Coming to TecPlata is not a gamble, but rather a strategic decision aligned with our ambitious five-year plan – and here we go.”
With the addition of the River Plate Service, TecPlata reaffirms its position as a key player in the Argentine port system. The service not only represents an operational development for the terminal, but also a commitment to innovation, sustainability and the growth of Argentina’s foreign trade.
