Strengthening non-containerized cargo operation across the ICTSI Group
Fifteen terminals across the ICTSI Group have come together to establish a collaborative platform for sharing best practices in project, bulk and breakbulk cargo operations.
The ICTSI Breakbulk Group aims to foster knowledge exchange and drive operational efficiency to further strengthen ICTSI’s position as an industry leader. It also promotes fruitful discussions, sharing of challenges and opportunities, and benchmarking of best practices as a foundation for future collaborations.
The terminals comprising the Breakbulk Group are:

- Kribi Multipurpose Terminal (Cameroon)
- Basra Gateway Terminal (Iraq)
- Baltic Container Terminal (Poland)

“As the ICTSI Group continues to expand and diversify, tapping the breakbulk terminal management – which is a largely untapped sector -- we have taken the proactive step of creating this group with the primary objective of providing mutual support to one another and collectively share benchmarks in the terminal management,” said Phillip Marsham, ICTSI global director for Manila International Container Terminal and Manila Harbor Center, during the group’s first meeting last 15 September.
“There is a growing interest in adding breakbulk shipments in the shipping industry, and in this way, we will be able to showcase what ICTSI has to offer,” he added.
