PICT partners with maritime education institute for youth development

Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) has been making strenuous efforts to uplift the youth as part of its goal to establish a more sustainable society.  These efforts include collaborating with educational institutions to bridge the gap between the academe and the maritime, shipping and ports sector.

PICT recently partnered with Bahria University, led by Vice Admiral (R) Khawaja Ghazanfar Hussain (HI)M, to launch a comprehensive internship program to help groom maritime graduates for the professional world.  The program was specifically designed to nurture the business acumen and strengthen the personal competencies of the graduates.  Under the program, interns are assigned mentors who assign job-based tasks to the interns to help them understand professional life and its challenges.

“PICT’s efforts for learning-intensive and development-focused initiatives are rooted in its belief of strengthening the youth for sustainable economies. Through internship programs like this, we envision to accelerate the career development of our younger generation and keep the talent pipeline green,” said Khurram Aziz Khan, PICT Chief Executive Officer.
