PICT earns top honors for workplace health and safety

Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) has been recognized once again by the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) for diligently upholding best practices in workplace health and safety.

PICT received the highest award in the Port & Terminal Industry category at the 15th EFP Best Practices Award in Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) held last 28 October at the Hotel Movenpick in Karachi.
The award recognizes the commitment and initiatives taken by the Company to raise the safety standard and improve the work environment for its employees and stakeholders.

PICT proactively demonstrates a focused approach towards the occupational safety and health of its employees and stakeholders as part of its vision to become the container terminal of choice at the Port of Karachi.  Strictly adhering to international standards, the Company continuously spearheads awareness programs, effective risk management strategies and safety drills.  Since the start of the COVID outbreak, the management has been working tirelessly to ensure a safe work environment and the sustainability of terminal operations.

“PICT has been maintaining high standards of safety in accordance with international best practices. Our top priority as part of ICTSI Group is to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees. Applying the highest international standards in our systems and processes, we envision to provide the highest quality of service and become an increasingly more reliable partner to our valued customers,” says Khurram Aziz Khan, PICT Chief Executive Officer.

PICT has consecutively earned recognition for workplace safety and health over the recent years, which is the result of the synchronous effort of the Company’s leadership and cross-functional employees towards making PICT the most reliable trade gateway at par with the highest international port standards.
