ICTSI Foundation gives laptops to scholars for online classes

The ICTSI Foundation continues to assist its 175 high school and college scholars in the Philippines amidst the academic disruption caused by the pandemic around the world. In lieu of the usual financial assistance (daily allowance, uniform, project, and school fees, among others) given to scholars prior to the pandemic, the Foundation instead distributed laptops to scholars who cannot afford to purchase their own computers for online schooling.  The laptops also come with pocket Wi-Fi with monthly data allowances to support the students’ participation in the current hybrid class setup.

As of 30 January, the Foundation has already distributed laptops to a total of 44 scholars in Manila, 20 in Bauan, and another 20 in Olongapo. Meanwhile, ICTSI’s local subsidiaries will facilitate the courier delivery of laptops for scholars in Davao, Tagum City, Misamis Oriental, and General Santos City.
