CMSA hires first female forklift operator

Embracing gender equality and workplace diversity, Contecon Manzanillo (CMSA) is proud to be the first company in the Port of Manzanillo to hire and train women to operate heavy equipment.

The Company welcomed its first female forklift driver, Patsi López Cruz, who showed great willingness to learn and advance her professional development in a traditionally male-dominated industry.  Ms. Cruz officially started her pioneering role last September after seven months of continuous training.

CMSA continues to open its doors to more female port workers, having successfully hired 43 women as stevedores since February this year. This milestone has been possible due to years of hard work, constant search for opportunities, and close collaboration with the union, and also reflects the Company’s confidence in women as capable contributors to the port industry.
