CGT, PCG conduct bomb threat drill
Cavite Gateway Terminal (CGT), in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the coastal community of Brgy. Capipisa in Tanza, held a bomb threat exercise on 24 June as part of regular initiatives to enhance security at the terminal.
The drill aims to boost the joint operational capabilities of the CGT, PCG - Cavite Station, and the local government unit in handling and responding to possible security threats at the terminal. The exercise was also done in connection with the 19th founding anniversary celebration of the Philippine Coast Guard’s K9 Force – a special operations unit under the Coast Guard Maritime Security and Law Enforcement Command.
Photo shows some of the activities conducted by the PCD during the exercise, including stakeholder education regarding the basics of an explosive device, facilities inspection, and explosives detection with the help of a bomb-sniffing dog.
