VCT rolls out SAP Ariba Sourcing 

Visayas Container Terminal (VCT) has implemented SAP Ariba Sourcing, a cloud-based procurement platform, as part of its initiative to modernize sourcing and supply chain management processes.

To support this initiative, the VCT Procurement Team—composed of Procurement Superintendent Percy Ryan Gomez, Senior Procurement Officer II Rossan Serra, and Procurement Specialist Nicole Marie Lamela—completed training designed to model best practices, which include phases, tasks, milestones, team roles, and collaboration protocols.

The launch event brought together representatives from both ICTSI Global Procurement and the VCT Procurement teams. Speakers included Johanna San Gabriel, PMO senior manager – Global Corporate Procurement; Desha Ruth Galas, Ariba specialist – Global Corporate IT; and Gay Longkines, Ariba lead – Global Corporate IT. John Largo, VCT chief executive officer, and Niño Louie Santander, VCT finance director, participated in the event, which was also supported by Damien Huppert, ICTSI vice president –Global Procurement. VCT’s accredited vendors were also in attendance.

The event included the SAP Ariba Roadshow and a Manager’s Training Program, which aimed to prepare internal teams and external partners to effectively use the new platform.

The integration of SAP Ariba Sourcing is intended to streamline procurement operations, support strategic sourcing, and facilitate collaboration with suppliers.
