VCT forum promotes regional connectivity

Visayas Container Terminal recently organized its inaugural customer forum in Iloilo City with the theme Connecting Western Visayas to the World: Navigating the Foreign Container Trade.

The forum aimed to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders across the region’s logistics and trade sectors, as well as to identify ways to expand Western Visayas’ participation in international container trade.

Participants included importersm, exporters, shipping lines like SITC and Regional Container Lines, members of the Iloilo business community, freight forwards, logistics providers, and representatives from the Bureau of Customs – Port District of Iloilo, Department of Economy, Planning and Development VI, Philippine Ports Authority, and local government units across the Panay Island.

Discussion covered emerging trade opportunities, operational efficiency, process streamlining, and challenges in foreign container handling. A panel and open forum encouraged participants to exchange insights and propose measures to improve port operations and customer engagement.
