Contecon Guayaquil S.A. (CGSA) recently had the honor of hosting His Excellency Arthur W. Brown, the newly appointed United States Ambassador to Ecuador.

Ambassador Brown engaged in discussions with the terminal's directors, focusing on security and operational efficiency at Ecuador's largest and most significant port.

The ambassador was given an extensive tour of the terminal, where he observed the state-of-the-art infrastructure and the stringent security measures in place at the facility. A highlight was the demonstration of the advanced scanning technology, which facilitates thorough and swift inspections of trucks and containers, ensuring secure and efficient operation.

Additionally, Ambassador Brown visited the designated area that CGSA will allocate to the Maritime Operations Group (GOPMAR) – an initiative supported by the United States government. This facility, located within CGSA's premises, will accommodate approximately 40 personnel from the military and police task force dedicated to enhancing Ecuador's capabilities in patrolling and conducting interdictions in Guayaquil's waterways. The building will be fully equipped with essential amenities to support the staff, underscoring CGSA's commitment to security and inter-institutional cooperation.
