Tecon Suape recognized as ICTSI’s top terminal for 2024

Tecon Suape S.A., International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) subsidiary in Pernambuco, Brazil, was named the company’s top-performing business unit for 2024. The recognition was announced on March 12 during the ICTSI Chairman’s Cup, an annual event that honors the ICTSI Group’s leading terminals based on the previous year’s performance.

Tecon Suape accomplished its operational targets while aligning with the Group’s strategies, including enhanced operating leverage, improved efficiency and cost reductions per TEU.

Contecon Manzanillo S.A. in Mexico placed second, while Rio Brasil Terminal in Brazil and Victoria International Container Terminal in Australia received honorable mentions for their strong performances.

Two other terminals received special awards: Mindanao Container Terminal in the Philippines won the Operating Leverage Award for lowering operating expenses per TEU, while Madagascar International Container Terminal Services Ltd. in Toamasina, Madagascar, received the Turnaround Award for operational improvements.

The awards were presented by Enrique K. Razon Jr., ICTSI chairman and president.
