Subic Bay International Terminals (SBITC) recently conducted First Aid and Basic Life Support training for its Emergency Response Team (ERT), reinforcing workplace safety and emergency readiness.

The training was organized by the company’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment Department in coordination with the Zambales Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the Subic Fire and Rescue Medical Team. Emergency professionals led scenario-based sessions covering life-saving skills.

ERT members were trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, use of Automated External Defibrillators, choking response, bleeding control, fracture management, bandaging, and patient assessment. The training also emphasized coordination and communication during emergencies.

“This training is a key step in strengthening our emergency preparedness,” said Philippe Baudry, SBITC executive director. “It enables our team to respond effectively within the terminal and in nearby communities.”

Participants received certification as First Aiders and Lay Rescuers, affirming their ability to provide basic emergency care in line with national standards.

The company will continue the program through regular refresher courses and wider participation, maintaining its commitment to health and safety across operations.
