Razon Group foundations deliver aid to Typhoon Kristine survivors

The Razon Group, through its social responsibility arms ICTSI Foundation, Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, and Manila Water Foundation, acted swiftly to deliver crucial aid to over 5,000 families in Camarines Sur and Batangas reeling from the impact of Typhoon Kristine (international name: Trami) last October.

In Camarines Sur, the foundations joined forces to distribute 25-kilogram sacks of rice to 5,095 families in Naga City and the municipalities of Sipocot, Bula, Bato, Pili, Camaligan, Nabua and Timbang. Recognizing the urgent need to reach isolated communities cut off by landslides and damaged infrastructure in Balatan and Minabalac, the group coordinated the airlifting of rice supplies via Black Hawk helicopters provided by the Philippine Army’s 9th Infantry Division.

Manila Water Foundation led efforts to ensure access to clean water by distributing potable water through three 10-cubic meter tankers and 1,700 five-gallon containers, and deploying motorized boats for rescue operations.

The relief operations were significantly aided by the Parañaque Maritime Police and the Army’s 9th Infantry Division, who provided logistical support, including trucks and helicopters, enabling the team to navigate flooded and congested areas.

Meanwhile, in Batangas, ICTSI Foundation and Bauan International Port Inc. distributed 409 sacks of rice to displaced families in evacuation centers in Barangays San Andres and San Roque, Bauan.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that, as of 30 October, Typhoon Kristine had affected 1,788,630 families, or 7,033,922 individuals, and resulted in 139 casualties.
