PICT holds emergency evacuation drill

Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT), in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, the Karachi Port Security Forces (KPSF) and Sindh Rangers, recently held an emergency evacuation drill as part of proactive measures to maintain workplace safety and security.

The drill was done in light of the advisory by the KPSF Navy Squad and Rangers Wing on the actions to be taken in case of an external invasion and other related events.

“We believe in taking active measures to equip our team to become responsible and diligent members of the organization. Such a drill instills essential skills and highlights the behavior required to ensure everyone’s safety within the terminal premises,” said Khurram Aziz Khan, PICT chief executive officer.

PICT regularly conducts safety drills to re-educate employees and other stakeholders on the terminal’s safety and security procedures. They help prepare the terminal’s security force to respond appropriately during an emergency, being the first line of defense. These activities form part of the Company’s focused approach to adopt industry best practices and ensure holistic compliance through employee and stakeholder collaboration.
