Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) recently took delivery of two new Kalmar reach stackers to further boost the terminal’s operational efficiency.

The new equipment provides added flexibility to the terminal’s operation as PICT continues to drive efficiency, being the pivotal port gateway to Pakistan’s international trade.

Khurram Aziz Khan, PICT Chief Executive Officer, said: “PICT continues to augment its technological strengths and operational capabilities. With the latest addition to our mobile equipment fleet, the terminal hopes to further contribute to economic growth by facilitating more seamless port transactions for its stakeholders at the Port of Karachi – Pakistan’s commercial hub.”

Wajid Ali, Customs Appraisement South Chief Collector, cited PICT’s efforts to continuously raise the bar for customer service and port productivity: “The terminal foresees to strengthen quality driven services for its clients and bolster sustainable operations on a larger scale through this superstructure enhancement, which is a key touchpoint of port operations. It is positive to see PICT taking initiatives to facilitate trade and make new investments to improve their operational efficiency.”
