PICT celebrates International Women’s Day

Female Customs officials join female PICT employees during the company’s International Women’s Day

Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) has always been a staunch supporter of women empowerment for a better and balanced society. For this year’s Women’s Day, PICT celebrated the role of women in building sustainable societies by lauding the strength and power of the roles they play in bringing honor to the country.

PICT organized a recognition ceremony on March 8 to acknowledge the efforts and resilience of female employees as they continue to rise among the corporate ranks in an industry that predominantly employs men. The event was graced by female Customs officials, who serve as key partners in ensuring smooth terminal operations at the Port of Karachi.

Setting aside work role biases, PICT employees from multi-functional departments shared their voice on how women can rise above the challenges in the corporate world and contribute not only to the betterment of the company but also of society.

“At PICT, we value the significance of having diverse talent for organizational growth leading to flourishing societies. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer, committed to leading a gender-balanced workforce. We provide women with opportunities to take on key functional roles and positively contribute to the maritime port industry and sustainable economic growth,” said Khurram Aziz Khan, PICT chief executive officer.
