Onne Multipurpose Terminal (OMT) recently turned over three solar powered water systems to the Ogu community as part of efforts to provide the community with access to clean water.

Water is a fundamental resource that is essential for human survival. Unfortunately, access to clean water remains a major challenge for many communities in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

At the turnover ceremony, Jim Stewart, OMT Chief Operations Officer, said: “This is a happy day for OMT and the Ogu community. Making clean water accessible to all the families in the Ogu community brings us great joy and we look forward to supporting our host communities in the years to come.”

The Ogu community elders, led by Ogu Council of Chiefs Chairman Chief Adokiye, expressed their appreciation for OMT’s efforts to provide the community with clean water. They also highlighted the project’s impact on their lives and pledged to take good care of the water systems.
