New logistics integration boosts competitiveness between Rio de Janeiro, Southern Minas Gerais
CLIA Pouso Alegre and Rio Brasil Terminal officers lead the inauguration of the new and expanded logistics and industrial center.
CLIA Pouso Alegre inaugurated an expansion of the Logistics and Industrial Center on November 25, marking another step toward strengthening the connection between the Port of Rio de Janeiro and Southern Minas Gerais, a region known for its diverse industrial base and growing demand for integrated logistics solutions.
The newly expanded facility now offers 30,000 square meters of bonded area, 2,000 square meters of ANVISA-certified refrigerated storage, and a container depot. With increased capacity and more efficient operations, companies in the region can take advantage of new opportunities to lower their logistics cost and improve both import and export lead times.
The inauguration also paved the way for the launch of the Rio-Minas corridor, a strategic logistics route designed to enhance integration, efficiency and competitiveness across the region. This multimodal solution strongly supports Southern Minas, offering proximity, cost reduction, and greater operational stability that position Rio Brasil Terminal (RBT) as competitive and reliable alternative amidst the severe congestion affecting many ports.
Establishing this corridor forms part of RBT’s and CLIA Pouso Alegre’s commitment to operational safety, environmental responsibility, and technical excellence. Both companies seek to deliver enhanced connectivity, agility, and opportunities for importers and exporters in the region
