MMT passes PPA audit
Manila Multipurpose Terminal (MMT) was recently audited by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) on port security, in accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 10-2003, which mandates the conduct and submission of a comprehensive security survey and plan, as well as the designation of a Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO).
The audit team, led by PPA Port Police Superintendent Dan G. Alano, station commander of the Port Management Office - National Capital Region (PMO-NCR) North, reviewed and evaluated MMT's records, activities, and security plan to assess the terminal’s security controls and ensure compliance with the port facility security procedures established by the agency.
PFSO Raymund Y. Fran, MMT security manager, stated that MMT has implemented a port security plan and regularly conducts security evaluations to identify potential risks, perform simulation exercises, and develop strategies to mitigate threats.
MMT complies with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code mandated by the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) under the Department of Transportation.
