MMT joins Customs advisory council
Members of the BOC-POM CICAC
Manila Multipurpose Terminal (MMT) is now part of the Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC) of the Bureau of Customs – Port of Manila (BOC-POM).
At the CICAC meeting last 14 June, District Collector Rizalino Jose Torralba introduced MMT along with the rest of the council’s new members: Philippine Iron and Steel Institute, Asia Cargo Container Line Inc., Federation of India Chamber of Commerce Inc., Destileria Limtuaco, and the Federation of Philippine Industries. Currently, the district’s CICAC chapter is composed of more than 20 organizations representing the trade and commerce sectors nationwide.
Torralba also outlined the POM’s strategy to initiate round-the-clock processing of agricultural shipments in line with the directive of Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Introduced the ATA Carnet, detailing its scope and application process.
The council also tackled logistics, terminal operations, and shipment processing, among various issues.
The CICAC’s plan of action is to establish communication and consultation between the BOC and its industry partners. The council also aims to provide a venue for addressing and resolving issues and concerns raised by both parties.
