MICT trains new managers to become effective leaders
Phillip Marsham spearheads the leadership training for new MICT managers
Newly promoted managers at Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) recently took part in their first “Improving your Management Skills” training, which aimed to help them excel in their new roles.
Facilitated by Phillip Marsham, MICT executive director, the training focused on three key points for effective leadership:
- Time Management. Beyond tracking hours, time management is about self-management. Leaders were encouraged to identify priorities, set clear goals and allocated time to activities that align with the company’s values and objectives
- Stakeholder Relationships. Building trust through transparency, reliability and ehetical behavior is essential in building and nurturing strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Emotional Intelligence. Managers recognized the importance of emotional intelligence in their daily interactions, noting its ability to empower them in decision-making, communication, and empathy, ultimately fostering strong and cohesive teams.
The training received positive feedback, with participants expressing their appreciation for the practical insights and skills they gained.
MICT is committed to the continuous development of its leaders, ensuring they have the support and resources need to succeed.
