MICT rolls out refresher program on essential processes and systems
Manila International Container Terminal recently launched the MICT Masterclass, a series of refresher courses designed to promote essential customer processes and systems including the Advanced Customer Transaction System (ACTS), Terminal Appointment Booking System (TABS), and the ICTSI App. Employees who participated in the sessions are expected to optimize and streamline their workflows.
Masterclasses were conducted in June and July in collaboration with ICTSI subsidiaries Catalyst, Sevilla, and Laguna Gateway Inland Container Terminal (LGICT). The sessions offered valuable insights to their internal logistics team. Later, MICT extended the learning opportunity to external clients.
The ACTS module offered an in-depth introduction to the system, guiding participants through the registration process and selection of appropriate payment methods for various transaction types such as imports, exports, reefer, out-of-gauge, dangerous goods, and other cargo. Participants also learned how to make payments, manage self-service request payments, and handle special applications like EWT, VAT, and PPA wharfage exemption.
The TABS module focused on familiarity with the registration process and the addition of users. The sessions covered account management, demonstrating how to top-up accounts and handle tax applications. Participants were also briefed about the advantages of advanced booking, how to secure their desired slots, and using the truck manifest editor. The module also provided tips on minimizing slot fees and avoiding penalties.
Finally, the ICTSI App module offered an overview of the app’s container, vessel, and truck monitoring features. Participants were taught how to manage notifications and leverage the watchlist feature to stay informed with real-time updates on their cargo. The module also explored additional features like billing computation, terminal CCTV, announcements, port tour requests, and chatting with ISSA.
By equipping both internal and external stakeholders with these essential skills and knowledge, MICT aims to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction across its services.
