MICT celebrates Women in Engineering Day
Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) recognized the accomplishments and contributions of women engineers as part of the commemoration of International Women in Engineering Day on 21 June.
An event was organized to highlight the perseverance and indispensable role of women in the field of engineering. For the opening remarks, MICT Engineering Director Thomas Goodwin expressed his support for the continued success of women engineers.
A video testimonial by Mariel Zamora, ICTSI regional procurement senior director, and Atty. Lirene Mora, vice president - Global Corporate Legal Affairs, shared personal stories emphasizing that gender does not limit success.
Erika Ambrosio, MICT customer experience head, and Catherine Panilla, head of enterprise process transformation, also shared their journeys, underscoring the importance of diversity, collaboration, and kindness.
Dr. Marla C. Maniquiz-Redillas, a De La Salle University-Manila professor, delivered a captivating talk about a Filipina Civil Engineer's perspective on innovation and sustainability, further enriching the discussion on women's impact on engineering.
Held for the first time, the event served as a testament to MICT's commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered. It also reinforced the message that greatness knows no bounds, and that everyone has unique strengths to contribute.
