It also served as a platform for stakeholders to receive updates on major infrastructure projects in the Visayas and Mindanao, trade and customs facilitation at ports, and the operation of logistics and customs agencies.

In her keynote speech, Mindanao Development Authority Chairperson Maria Belen Acosta, promoted trade and shipping in the region and discussed plans to develop Mindanao into a multimodal transport and logistics hub. She also talked about digitalization, water supply and deforestation.

Meanwhile, speakers from the Bureau of Customs Davao and Philippine Institute for Development Studies presented prospects for Mindanao trade in the context of Philippine economic development.

The conference was organized by PortCalls Asia.
