Making a global impact through sustainable operations, ICTSI recently participated in the Global Compact Network Philippines’ (GCNP) Sustainability Summit on 23 October. Mariel Zamora, ICTSI Global Procurement senior director for Philippines and APAC, shared ICTSI's initiatives across 32 countries that contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Ms. Zamora emphasized ICTSI’s contribution to several SDGs, including responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), climate action (SDG 13), and decent work and economic growth (SDG 8). She also highlighted the Company's dedication to sustainability across its entire value chain, generating long-term value that benefits both the environment and the communities it serves: "At ICTSI, we recognize the value of partnerships and collaboration with our stakeholders. These have created a meaningful impact for the business, stakeholders and for the nations where we operate. One lesson I want to share is to start somewhere. It is not easy, and it is expensive in the short run, but it will be cost-efficient in the long run.”
As a signatory of and participant in the UN Global Compact, ICTSI actively participates in sustainability dialogues. The GCNP Sustainability Summit was a valuable platform to exchange ideas and best practices among corporations, industry leaders, government representatives, and sustainability professionals, reinforcing ICTSI's role as a responsible business driving positive change through sustainable practices.
