ICTSI Foundation, VCT spread Christmas cheer to Iloilo children with special needs

The ICTSI Foundation (IF) and Visayas Container Terminal (VCT) recently brought holiday joy to 102 children with special needs in their first Christmas outreach program in Iloilo City. The outreach program is IF’s long-standing tradition of giving back to the community during the holiday season.

Beneficiaries, persons with disabilities and clients of the Iloilo City Social Welfare Development Office’s (CSWDO) Crisis Intervention Unit, were treated to a day of fun and festivities. The children received grocery packages of essential goods and toys to spark their imaginations, and delicious meals. Entertainment included a magic show, dance numbers, mascot appearances, and the artistry of balloon twisting and face painting. Games and activities kept the children engaged, while a photo booth and food carts serving popcorn, hotdogs, and cotton candy added to the celebration.

VCT employees and ICTSI Foundation scholars volunteered their time and energy to ensure the event's success, demonstrating a strong commitment to community engagement. John Largo, VCT chief executive officer, led the festivities, personally distributing gifts and spreading Christmas cheer.

This event marks the beginning of IF and VCT's commitment to build strong relationships with their newest host community in Iloilo City. Through this, they demonstrate their dedication to making a positive and lasting impact on the lives of those in need.
