The ICTSI Foundation (IF) and South Cotabato International Port Services, Inc. (SCIPSI) recently turned over a Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) project to Labangal National High School in General Santos City.
IF and SCIPSI inaugurated a mini hotel that will be a training ground for high school students taking courses in front office services and housekeeping under the DepEd K-12’s technology and livelihood track, right within the school premises. The mini hotel comes with a front office, bedroom, kitchen, bar, and laundry room. The project contributes to enhancing students' skills development and improved employability after graduation from senior high school. GenSan City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao graced the turn-over ceremony.
In the same week, IF and SCIPSI turned over disaster resiliency tools and equipment to 22 public high schools in GenSan. Items turned over include "go bags", fire extinguishers, stretchers, fire alarm, megaphones, emergency lights, hard hats, and more. The donation aims to enhance schools’ disaster preparedness as GenSan’s geographical location makes it highly vulnerable to natural disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes.
