Global IT summit charts course for digital transformation

More than 80 Information Technology leaders across the ICTSI Group converged in Manila from 27-31 May for the ICTSI Global IT Leadership Summit. With the theme “CTRL+LEAD+DELIVER,” the event focused on collaboration and knowledge sharing on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities to drive ICTSI’s global IT strategy forward.

The week-long event kicked off with a tour of the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) and NorthPort, giving participants a firsthand look at ICTSI Manila's operations. Brian Hibbert, vice president and global chief information officer, led a townhall meeting where he shared the company's strategic vision for IT. Other presenters, including Damien Huppert, vice president and head of Global Procurement; Atty. Lirene Mora, vice president, Global Corporate Legal Affairs; and Catherine Panilla, head of Enterprise Process Transformation, shared their perspectives on the critical role of IT in achieving ICTSI’s business objectives; emerging trends and key challenges facing the port and maritime industry; and best practices in driving efficient and sustainable IT operations.

A simulated cybersecurity incident response exercise was also conducted to prepare terminals for potential cyberattacks and enhance the terminals’ familiarity with ICTSI’s global incident response plan.

Discussions at the summit concluded with a focus on building a resilient ICTSI, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among terminals and stakeholders to navigate an ever-changing world.

The success of the summit has set high expectations for future events, promising even greater collaboration and strategic discussions.
