Contecon Manzanillo sets new record with MSC Napoli
Contecon Manzanillo kicked off the new year on a high note after setting a new operational record with the successful handling of the MSC Napoli. With 10 high cube stowage, the vessel is one of the largest to call at the Port of Manzanillo.
The operation on 16 January at Pier 19 set a terminal record with 800 container moves. The feat was made possible by Contecon Manzanillo’s recent infrastructure upgrades, including the deployment of quay cranes 9 and 10 – considered to be the largest ship-to-shore cranes in the Latin America region. The two quay cranes, with their advanced technology and lifting capacity, have optimized cargo handling operations and enhanced the terminal’s efficiency and readiness for handling larger vessels.
Contecon Manzanillo continues to raise the bar for operational excellence in Mexico’s maritime sector, strengthening its role as a key gateway for global trade.
