Contecon Guayaquil S.A. (CGSA), Ecuador’s leading port terminal, had an outstanding participation in the latest edition of the Fruit Attraction Fair in Madrid, Spain, consolidating its position as a key player in the global fruit and vegetable market. The annual event, which took place from 8 to 10 October, established strategic connections and showcased participants’ ability to meet the needs of international customers.
CGSA highlighted its strengths in innovation, operational efficiency and safety during the event, and promoted the upcoming inauguration of its dockside cold storage facility. The project represents an investment of approximately USD3.5 million. The new facility will optimize loading times, maintain the quality of fresh products, and generate significant savings in mobilization costs to significantly benefit customers.
CGSA also highlighted the improvements implemented in both physical infrastructure and technology, which strengthen the controls carried out by the relevant authorities– reaffirming its reputation as the safest terminal in Ecuador.
With security as a strategic pillar for CGSA, the terminal utilizes three non-intrusive inspection scanners. They can scan a combined maximum of 300 vehicles per hour.
Fruit Attraction 2024 brought together more than 2,000 exhibitors from 56 countries in 10 pavilions, establishing itself as the major event for professionals in the world of fruit and vegetables through innovation, quality and diversity.
