In a resounding affirmation of the company’s sustainable practices, Contecon Guayaquil has been honored with the 2023 ULVR Green Award in recognition of the innovative and sustainable initiatives it applies to its operations at Ecuador’s main maritime port.

Conferred by the Vicente Rocafuerte Lay University (ULVR), the award validates Contecon’s ongoing commitment to responsible environmental management and the promotion of sustainability in its port operations. The acknowledgment from the academic community is a source of immense pride for Contecon, and further motivates the company to continue working hard in promoting innovation and technologies that minimize the impact of port operations on the environment.

“As Ecuador’s flagship terminal and a strategic partner of the State, we are proud to be recognized for our work. We are the first port terminal in the country and in Latin America to obtain international carbon-neutral certification. More than just a port operator, we are an integral part of the development and sustainable growth of Ecuador,” said Fohodil Galeas, Contecon Guayaquil commercial director.

Throughout its 16 years of operation, Contecon Guayaquil has consolidated its position as Ecuador’s main maritime port and trade gateway by investing in modern infrastructure and committing to environmental conservation.
