CMSA leads in Mexican rail container movement

Contecon Manzanillo (CMSA) is the top terminal in Mexico in terms of container movement by rail in 2024.

Rail cargo at CMSA increased by 128 percent since 2020, representing more than 60 percent of the entire cargo handled by the Port of Manzanillo.

“This exponential increase is the unequivocal sign of the terminal’s commitment to strengthen its infrastructure and operational capacity, adapting to the growing demands of global trade,” said Jose Antonio Contreras, CMSA CEO.

“We are committed to exceeding the expectation of our customers and contributing to the country’s logistics development. This achievement is the result of the efforts of our commercial and operations teams, as well as our close coordination with Ferromex,” he added.

CMSA is currently the only terminal in the Port of Manzanillo that has its own intermodal facility.
