CGSA unveils innovative control center

Inside CGSA’s new control center

Contecon Guayaquil (CGSA), Ecuador’s largest and main seaport, continues to revolutionize logistics operations in the country with the unveiling of its new state-of-the-art control center.

The facility, which serves as the terminal’s central hub, operates 24/7 and unifies critical areas like operations, customer service and finance in one place. This streamlining helps maximize visibility and enables uninterrupted service to ensure the highest levels of customer experience.

At the heart of CGSA’s latest initiative is an in-house-developed software system that integrates advanced real-time monitoring technologies to provide a 360-degree view of vehicles and equipment using GPS. Having this pinpoint precision of control not only promotes proactive and agile management of terminal operations, but also enables CGSA to set the standard in logistics technology and operational security in the region.

Additionally, the implementation of CGSA’s master plan involving the rerouting of trucks and reorganization of yards has reduced the time spent by external trucks inside the terminal by 40 percent. The noticeable improvement in traffic flow not only optimizes the terminal’s operations, but also generates considerable cost reduction for customers and increases security for carriers.

A part of CGSA’s commitment to providing exceptional customer service, these initiatives further strengthen the terminal’s position as the undisputed leader in Ecuadorian foreign trade.
