CGSA implements Terminal Tracker
Contecon Guayaquil (CGSA) continues to demonstrate its leadership in Ecuador’s port industry by becoming the first terminal in the country to successfully implement the Terminal Tracker – an innovation that revolutionizes visibility over the terminal’s yard operations and port planning.
The project was carried out in collaboration with Identec Solutions, giving the CGSA team better visibility and real-time information on port activities. The rollout started with a single rubber tired gantry (RTG) crane and was gradually carried out across the entire RTG fleet.
From the outset, Terminal Tracker demonstrated its ability to relay accurate storage positions, container weights and other vital information to the terminal operating system.
“The implementation of Terminal Tracker represents a dynamic change to CGSA operations. It has increased our operational visibility and enhanced the efficiency and security of cargo handling within our terminal,” explained Martin Moreda, CGSA chief operating officer.
Terminal Trackers’ implementation enhances CGSA’s reputation as a port with innovative management, and reaffirms its commitment to customer service excellence.
Leveraging its strategic location, significant infrastructure investments and custom-centric approach, CGSA stands out for its business model and being the most secure terminal in the country. The latest innovation enables CGSA to further strengthen its role as an ally of Ecuador’s export sector.
