Among the highlights of AGCT’s participation was Rijeka Day on June 3, during which industry professionals gathered at the booth to explore the advantages of using the Rijeka route to move their cargo. The event attracted significant interest, underscoring Rijeka’s growing importance as a logistics hub.

Emmanuel Papagiannakis, AGCT chief executive officer, highlighted the terminal’s traffic growth and the increasing share of rail transport. He emphasized Rijeka’s leading position as a port for the Serbian and Bosnia and Herzegovina markets, with a growing presence in Central European markets such as Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

Mr. Papagiannakis also outlined key development projects such

as the first phase of dredging, which increased the depth along the operational shore, and the upcoming second phase.AGCT is also finalizing investments of approximately USD40 million, which include the acquisition of two new super post-Panamax quay cranes and two new hybrid rubber-tired gantry cranes. They are scheduled for delivery in mid-October alongside other terminal equipment.

Mr. Papagiannakis reaffirmed AGCT’s commitment to the Port of Rijeka’s strong future, acknowledging the Rijeka Port Authority’s effective initiatives and the Croatian government’s full support—especially regarding the timely upgrade of railway infrastructure.
