Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) organized a Heart Health Day event for employees last 29 September in observance of the annual World Heart Day.

Meant to raise awareness on cardiovascular health and encourage healthy living, the event featured a range of activities including blood pressure checks to assess employees’ heart health; seminars on vital heart-health habits like not smoking, embracing a balanced diet, regular exercise, and regular monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate and blood sugar; and reinforcement of the commitment to cardiovascular disease prevention as key to a healthier future.

“The well-being of our employees is of utmost importance. Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death globally and by observing Heart Health Day, we can increase awareness and remind our employees that small changes in lifestyle, diet, physical activities, and stress management can make a significant difference in our quality of life and life expectancy,” explained Emmanuel Papagiannakis, AGCT chief executive officer.

AGCT’s World Heart Day activities align with the company’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts and dedication to a healthy and engaged workforce.
