The leadership of Contecon Guayaquil (CGSA) recently met with Wang Kunhui, COSCO Shipping Latin America chairman, to strengthen trade relations and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
The Port of Chancay project in Peru was discussed during the meeting, highlighting its positive impact on Ecuador. This logistics hub is emerging as a strategic hub in the region, with the potential to become a key channel for increasing Ecuadorian exports, especially to the growing Asian market.
The presentation of the Port of Chancay emphasized not only its significance as a new strategic point for regional trade, but also the potential synergies between Peru and Ecuador to optimize trade routes to Asia.
The COSCO Shipping Latin America group also toured CGSA’s facilities, where they observed the terminal’s modern infrastructure and rigorous security protocols. These included the operation of advanced scanners that ensure thorough and efficient inspections of trucks and containers. This technology enables rapid processing, promoting international trade with high standards of security and efficiency.
With this initiative, CGSA reaffirms its role as a strategic partner for Ecuadorian exporters, strengthening alliances and facilitating the necessary connections for the growth of the country’s foreign trade. Committed to the economic development of the country and in collaboration with its strategic allies, CGSA convened key stakeholders from the banana, shrimp, and teak sectors to create a forum for dialogue and explore opportunities and challenges that will enhance Ecuadorian exports.
